Dr. Oz – Recently Endorsed Medically Supervised HCG Weight Loss

Many of you may have seen the recent week-long series on weight loss on the Dr. Oz show.

Several interesting findings were mentioned, and a whole program was dedicated to hCG. It was interesting to see Dr. Oz’s perspective as he gets more familiar with the hCG weight loss protocol and the results that it can produce. This time he spoke of it highly and recommended that people try it under medical supervision.

The hCG weight loss protocol that I have offered to my patients for the past several years, based after Dr. Simeons’ original protocol, is available to any of my patients who have balanced their metabolism and hormonal levels and have established healthy eating and exercise patterns. These are really important before weight loss so that you have a balanced baseline to return to. Of all weight loss methods, I find the hCG protocol to give the best clinical results with the least amount of health risk.

Over the years, many patients have successfully lost weight (up to 35 lbs in 6 weeks!) and are continuing to benefit from the resulting improvements in their health.

And you can do it too! This is a program that works by increasing your body’s ability to burn fat, up to 4000 calories per day, while you eat a limited caloric diet. We use hCG, which is a hormone that is naturally produced in both women and men. A small quantity of this hormone is injected daily, and we monitor your fat mass loss while helping you to avoid losing muscle mass and to prevent toxicity. Most people are good candidates for this program as long as they need to lose at least 12 pounds. For a more detailed explanation, please see my previous newsletters of June 2010 and December 2010.

This program requires discipline, but that pays off in results. Most women lose ½ -1 pounds per day, while men can expect losing 1-2 pounds per day. The treatment extends over 21 or 42 consecutive days depending on the amount of weight you want to lose, and is followed by a 3 week maintenance phase when your body resets its metabolism. We then help you to establish healthier eating patterns and to keep your hormones balanced so that your weight loss can be maintained.

You will meet with me initially to ensure that you are a candidate for the program, to determine your ideal weight, and to do a baseline BIA test of your fat mass and muscle mass – which you will check on a weekly basis during the program. There will also be brief weekly appointments with me to check your progress and to make any necessary corrections. Meeting with Lizzie twice during your hCG weight loss protocol supports your self-nurturing beyond food along with the discovery and release of potential emotional blocks that affect your progress.

Here are some remarks from past participants:

“When I look at myself I am very, very happy! I can’t believe I’m back to what I weighed 10 years ago. I lost 26 pounds.”

“I feel so good and look in the mirror at the new me and know I can do anything! I proved it to myself!” Lost 14 pounds.

“It was a powerful experience and I lost 32 pounds.”

If you think this program is for you, please start by calling Lizzie. If you have worked on balancing your hormones, you are probably ready to jump in. If you have not, we’ll get started on those issues first.

A couple of years ago I decided to get my certification in this specialty, and I have enjoyed exchanging experiences with other clinicians who have successfully used this approach with their patients. It really works, and the results are amazing. I’m glad to see that Dr. Oz has now seen the benefits of this approach and is on board.

My practice continues to be focused on hormonal (endocrine) health for women and men of all ages, but I also find that our hormonal systems work best when we practice good lifestyle choices including diet, supplementation, exercise, stress management, and weight control. And, think of all the benefits you can enjoy when you support a more healthy weight – less risk of diseases, better mobility, a more positive sense of yourself, and a feeling of being in control of your health.

You CAN create a healthy life, and you CAN achieve a healthy weight to support that.

Don’t put off what can benefit you not only for the present but also for the future. I know, I’ve done it myself!!

Happy springtime and to a renewed body!

About Jane

The FDA has approved hCG for use as a fertility drug (at much higher doses), but not specifically for weight loss. In fact, the FDA requires medical providers to include the following statement any time they say anything about hCG and weight to the public:

“HCG has not been demonstrated to be effective adjunctive therapy in the treatment of obesity. There is no substantial evidence that it increases weight loss beyond that resulting from caloric restriction, that it causes a more attractive or ‘normal’ distribution of fat, or that it decreases the hunger and discomfort associated with calorie-restricted diets.”

Clinical evidence shows the opposite of this statement with patient after patient doing the protocol.
